Anti-Piracy Crew Faces New Delays in India
Nothing is cut and dried in the case of the anti-piracy guards who no longer face charges in India but are low on money and unable to leave the country.
An Indian court was to decide to return personal effects and bail bond to the 14 Estonians who were were held for months in Chennai during a pre-trial investigation, then released. But the court managed to discuss only one of the items – the first 10,000 rupee (123 euros) bond paid by each of the men.
The court is expected to discuss the rest of the bond paid later – 25 million rupees (roughly 310,000 euros) – confiscated passports and personal belongings in a few days.
