Nigeria: Bakassi youths kill 4 militants, rescue 5 boats

The silent war between Bakassi youths of Esighi community in Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State and the ex-militants gathered momentum on Monday  as the former launched full attack on the latter killing four.

An eye-witness told Daily Sun that the attack, which took place in the early hours of Monday led to the rescue of five boats said to belong to the community while the Bakassi  youths lost one of their members in the process.

The account further said the young men from Esighi community had trailed the militants to one of their hideouts and launched coordinated attacks on their camp and in the process killed four militants while five boats seized from traders were rescued.

Sea pirates had, late April, attacked a 40-passenger boat that  loaded at Ikang and travelling to Cameroon.
