Putrajaya negotiating to charge tanker hijackers in Malaysia

Putrajaya is working on prosecuting the eight arrested in Vietnam for allegedly hijacking a Malaysian fuel tanker with 6,000 of petrol last month.

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency deputy director-general (operations) Vice-Admiral  Datuk Ahmad Puzi Ab Kahar said five officers led by the agency’s criminal investigation director First Admiral  Datuk Zulkifli Abu Bakar were in Hanoi to discuss the matter.

“MMEA wants to bring the suspects to Malaysia as soon as possible. But, in this case, we also have to consider Vietnam’s stand on the matter because they also want to investigate.
